April 10th at 10:00 PM EST I'll be appearing on the Richard Syrett Show

03-Apr-2008

On April 10, 2008, at 10:00 PM EST I'll be appearing on the Richard Syrett show from Toronto. Richard is a good friend and is known as the "Art Bell of Canada." Appearing with Richard and me will be Peggy Sue Gerron. Peggy Sue is best known as the girl behind Buddy Holly's hit record. Peggy will discuss the Buddy Holly curse with us and give some great insight into her new book "Whatever Happened to Peggy Sue?" Here is the link so you can call in and speak with me http://www.richardsyrett.com/index.htm. I'm sure we will be discussing all topics and I look forward to speaking with as many of you as possible.

I'd like to thank everyone, once again, for their response to my "Hellhounds on Their Trail" give away. I had a great number of emails with the correct answer. I'd like to congratulate Samantha for giving me the first totally correct entry. I'm thinking I need to do another giveaway. I'll look into my vaults and see if I can come up with another book. One thing that concerns me is some of you got your newsletters a few days after they were originally sent out. I know the Author's Guild switched servers and this may have a created a problem in getting the newsletters out on time and all together.

My current projects include working on a film documentary that has been in production for over two years now. When the final budget comes in we will be filming a live concert with a number of guest artists. We will need an enthusiastic crowd for the film so I'd like to give away anywhere from 25 to 50 backstage passes for my friends to attend the concert and be "in the film." I'm sure my partner, director Paul Justman ("Standing in the Shadows of Motown") will go along with me on this. As for the location, all I know is it will be in the South. If we film in Nashville there will be some great prices on flights. When the final budget is funded and the shooting schedule is determined I intend to have the ultimate lottery for those of you who would like to attend and hang out with me for a few days--We may go to "Tootsie's Orchid Lounge" and look for old Hank's ghost who many say still makes his way through Nashville's most famous bar.

If some of you may be interested I'll speak with my old friend Tim to help me sit up a live chat ever so often. I always love to hear your questions. I'm in the process of putting another collection of great rock myths and legends together. If you know some great stories that you feel would be a welcome addition, pass it along to me.

When I find the time I intend to post some of the photos to my recent trips to London and Paris--everything from Abbey Road to Pere la Chaise. I hope you heard the Doors show I put together for Coast to Coast a few weeks ago. I know I had a blast. I'll give you a tip--there is MORE to come from the Jim Morrison story on Coast to Coast.

Finally, if you'd like to know anything about me just ask. I feel like many of us are old friends now. Some of you have asked if you can get your books signed and I intend to post a mailing address. I'll have more on this in the next few weeks.

I once again want to thank you for your support. This, as always, means a great deal to me. In closing I'd like to give a shout out to Graham from Colorado! I'll be looking forward to speaking with you on the Richard Syrett Show!!

Best Wishes Always,

Gary
